Homestead Cabinets is hiring for several assembly technician positions . Homestead represents a refreshing, new way of thinking and of doing business. The hours for this shift would normally be 6:30 am - 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday with some overtime required.

We are looking for someone motivated, hardworking, and interested in working at a high-functioning manufacturing facility.

About the Role

As a drawer box technician, you will perform various tasks, including using machinery, painting, building drawer boxes and searching for ways to help improve the drawer box area of the shop.

Requirements

• Attention to detail
• Ability to paint
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to frequently move, lift, carry, push, or pull weight up to 50 lbs. unassisted and occasionally
lift/move items greater than 50 lbs. with assistance
• Ability to continuously stand or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a noisy environment
• Ability to work in an environment with paint fumes
• Frequently use fingers or hands to grasp, clamp, move, and handle objects
• Frequently squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, turn, pivot, and reach
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Curiosity and a desire to learn

Responsibilities 

• Read and understand Job specs and Cutlists
• Communicate with upstream and downstream departments
• Operate Dovetailer, Upcut saw, orbital sander, rip saw, table saw, planer, hand router and drill on a daily basis
• Quality check parts visually and with a tape measure
• Help with paint and lacquer finish process

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently move, lift, carry, push, or pull weight up to 75 lbs. unassisted and occasionally lift/move items greater than 75 lbs. with assistance
• Ability to continuously stand or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a noisy environment
• Ability to work in a dusty environment
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders
• Frequently use fingers or hands to grasp, clamp, move, and handle objects
• Frequently squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, turn, pivot, and reach
