About the Role
Homestead Cabinets is looking for an experienced and meticulous Cabinet Painter/Finisher to join our skilled team. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a passion for high-quality craftsmanship, and expertise in applying various finishing techniques to custom cabinets. Requirements
● Proven experience as a cabinet painter/finisher or in a similar role (multiple years of experience preferred).
● Expertise in various finishing techniques, including staining, glazing, and painting.
● Skill in accurately mixing and matching colors (demonstration during the interview process required).
● Ability to effectively give and receive feedback and make adjustments accordingly.
● Strong attention to detail, consistency, and quality.
● Exceptional hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
● Growth mindset with an understanding of computer color measurement software and hardware.
● Experience with proven procedures and a curiosity to incorporate cutting-edge technology.
● Familiarity with painting tools, equipment, and raw materials like pigments, additives, and resins.
● Ability to work independently while also following directions from management.
● Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
● Prepare surfaces for painting and finishing, including sanding, filling, and priming.
● Apply paints, stains, lacquers, and other finishes to custom cabinetry.
● Use hand and power tools to achieve the desired finish.
● Perform touch-ups and repairs on finished products.
● Collaborate with designers and other craftsmen to ensure finishes meet the highest standards.
● Maintain a clean and organized work area.
● Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
● Manage the paint department to meet company objectives.
● Utilize time management skills to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Physical Requirements
● Ability to frequently move, lift, carry, push, or pull weight up to 50 lbs. unassisted and occasionally lift/move items greater than 50 lbs. with assistance
