Homestead Cabinets is hiring for a lock mitre technician position in our specialty department. Homestead represents a refreshing, new way of thinking and of doing business. We work hard to produce high quality, state-of-the-art custom cabinetry. We are looking for employees who would like to become skilled craftsmen. The hours for this shift typically would be from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday with some overtime required. Wage range is $16.00+ depending on previous work and leadership experience.

About the Role

As a lock mitre technician, you will operate the lock mitre machine and perform various tasks within the cabinet specialty department including manufacturing, assembly, basic testing of products, and searching for ways to help improve the specialty department area.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:
Ability to communicate, receive, and understand complex instructions regarding duties to be performed
Ability to adapt to changes in work schedule with ease
Time management skills
Ability to operate basic machinery (i.e. table saw, miter saw, router)
Ability to read a tape measure
Adherence to good manufacturing principles
Demonstrate eye for detail and quality-minded work habits
Curiosity and a desire to learn

Responsibilities 

Read and follow work procedures and schematics or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
Quality check parts
Maintain a clean and organized area
Assist in other departments when needed
Work with team lead, engineer, supervisors, and managers to improve quality and process efficiency

Perform manufacturing/assembly operations and various tasks following Homestead procedures, work instructions, and process aid sheets
Maintain daily production output

Physical Requirements

Ability to frequently move, lift, carry, push, or pull weight up to 50 lbs. unassisted and occasionally lift/move items greater than 50 lbs. with assistance
Ability to continuously stand or walk for long periods of time
Ability to work in a noisy environment
Ability to work in a dusty environment
Ability to climb stairs and ladders
Frequently use fingers or hands to grasp, clamp, move, and handle objects
Frequently squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, turn, pivot, and reach
