Homestead Cabinets is hiring for a paint and finish technician position. Homestead represents a refreshing, new way of thinking and of doing business. The hours for this shift would usually be 6:30 am - 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday with occasional overtime required.

About the Role

As a paint and finish technician, you'll perform various tasks, including sanding for glaze, wiping stain and glaze, and searching for ways to help improve the paintbay area.

Requirements

• Ability to frequently move, lift, carry, push, or pull weight up to 50 lbs. unassisted and occasionally lift/move items greater than 50 lbs. with assistance
• Ability to continuously stand or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a noisy environment
• Ability to work in an environment with paint fumes
• Frequently use fingers or hands to grasp, clamp, move, and handle objects
• Frequently squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, turn, pivot, and reach
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail
• Curiosity and a desire to learn

Responsibilities 

• Sanding for glaze
• Wiping stain and glaze
• Pay high attention to detail
• Maintain daily production output
• Participate in quality control inspections
• Inspect in-process & finished product
• Assist in other departments when needed
• Read job paperwork, measurements, and dealer or designer requests as well as identify cabinet material, edge banding, finish and parts

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently move, lift, carry, push, or pull weight up to 75 lbs. unassisted and occasionally lift/move items greater than 75 lbs. with assistance
• Ability to continuously stand or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a noisy environment
• Ability to work in a dusty environment
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders
• Frequently use fingers or hands to grasp, clamp, move, and handle objects
• Frequently squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, turn, pivot, and reach
