Homestead Cabinets is hiring for Parts Prep Technician positions . Homestead represents a refreshing, new way of thinking and of doing business. The hours for this shift would typically be from 6:30 am - 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. Wage is from $16.00+per hour depending on previous work experience.
About the Role
As a parts prep technician, you'll perform various tasks, including operating an orbital sander and sanding by hand, applying panel molding, checking in doors, and quality checking parts visuallyand with a tape measure. You will also be searching for ways to help improve the parts prep area.

Requirements
• Demonstrate eye for detail and quality-minded work habits
• Ability to use a tape measure essential
• Knowledge of basic fractions used in measuring parts
• Ability to communicate, receive, and understand complex instructions regarding duties to be performed
• Adherence to good manufacturing principles
• Curiosity and a desire to learn
• Good communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
• Operate orbital sander and sand doors and molding by hand
• Quality check parts visually and with a tape measure
• Read and follow work procedures and schematics or or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
• Perform manufacturing/molding operations and various tasks following Homestead procedures, work instructions, and process aid sheets
• Maintain daily production output
• Participate in quality control inspections
• Inspect in-process & finished product
• Assist in other departments when needed
• Work with team lead, engineers, supervisors, and managers to improve quality and process efficiency
Physical Requirements
• Ability to frequently move, lift, carry, push, or pull weight up to 50 lbs. unassisted and occasionally lift/move items greater than 50 lbs. with assistance
• Ability to continuously stand or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a noisy environment
• Ability to work in a dusty environment
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders
• Frequently use fingers or hands to grasp, clamp, move, and handle objects
