Homestead Cabinets is hiring for a purchasing manager position . Homestead represents a refreshing, new way of thinking and of doing business. We work hard to produce high quality, state-of-the-art custom cabinetry. We are looking for employees who would like to become skilled craftsmen. The normal hours for this shift would be from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday with occasional overtime required.

About the Role

As a purchasing manager, you'll perform various tasks, including purchasing and receiving all materials and hardware, purchasing and keeping inventory of shop supplies, and searching for ways to help improve the purchasing area.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate, receive, and understand complex instructions regarding duties to be performed
• Adherence to good manufacturing principles
• Demonstrate eye for detail and quality-minded work habits
• Curiosity and a desire to learn

Responsibilities 

• Read and follow work procedures and schematics or or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
• Keep hardware together and organized with each specific job
• Build a trusting and long term relationship with vendors
• Manage the purchasing department in a way to promote the mission and success of the company
• Process all orders in a timely manner
• Work with team lead, engineers, supervisors, and managers to improve quality and process efficiency

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently move, lift, carry, push, or pull weight up to 75 lbs. unassisted and occasionally lift/move items greater than 75 lbs. with assistance
• Must have basic computer skills
• Ability to operate fork lift
• Ability to continuously stand or walk for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a noisy environment
• Ability to work in a dusty environment
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders
• Frequently use fingers or hands to grasp, clamp, move, and handle objects
• Frequently squat, stoop, kneel, crouch, turn, pivot, and reach
