Homestead Cabinets is hiring for a Junior Project Manager position. Homestead represents a refreshing, new way of thinking and doing business. We work hard to produce high-quality, state-of-the-art custom cabinetry. We are looking for employees who would like to become skilled craftsmen. The hours for this shift would be 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Occasional overtime is required.

Homestead is a high-end custom cabinet shop that is built to order. Homestead provides our dealers with a custom online ordering system that you will become proficient at manipulating to communicate with our shop. A Junior Project Manager works closely with our customers to ensure that their orders are accurate. Communication is key. To be a Junior Project Manager you must be a “people person”, and be service-minded. There are a lot of details in a Homestead order and you will be expected to be thorough and exact. Depending on your experience, training can take anywhere from 3 months to a year. Homestead also uses every new and innovative hardware and technology that we can find and integrate. Knowledge or the ability to learn this hardware or technology is of the utmost importance, and creative ideas are encouraged. You will always be learning and growing here at Homestead.

Requirements

The following experience is preferred but not required:
Experience working with customers on commercial or residential cabinetry designs
Experience with bidding, engineering, fabricating
Finishing and cabinet installation experience
Familiarity with Microvellum, AutoCAD, 20-20, Blum, and Hafele cabinet hardware is a plus
Ability to take a 2D view and understanding it in a 3D view

Responsibilities 

Pick up an order and correctly take it from start to finish.
Work in a close team environment.
Raise concerns and brainstorm solutions for construction issues.
Use all forms of communication to work with customers and the Homestead shop to ensure the best form of success.

Leadership:
Build trusting, long-term relationships with both Dealers and Shop Staff
Communicate effectively with other Team members and Shop staff
Order Processing:
Process Hotlists, Orders, and requests for information Completely, Accurately, and Timely (CAT)
Read and understand project information sheets
Familiarity with Microvellum, AutoCAD, 20-20, Blum, and Hafele cabinet hardware is a plus
Ensure information on shop job sheets is clear and correct
Address any shop questions

Material Management:
Ensure the best material usage through design and programming
Flag Special order materials during the check-in process

Training:
Know the operation of Homestead’s Bid program
Know the operation of Microvellum
Keep up to date on all changes to the Bid program and Microvellum (AutoCAD)
Increase knowledge of vendor products and new innovative processes
